In a transaction which value amounts to US$ 98 million, Suramericana S.A. of Colombia acquires 97.03% of the shares of Aseguradora Suiza Salvadoreña S.A. (Asesuisa) and its affiliate Asesuisa Vida.

Arias & Muñoz El Salvador advised the buyer in the local due diligence as well as in reviewing the purchase document. The team led by Partner Ana Mercedes López included the help of Associates Flor de María Cortéz and Carolina Lazo.

Through this transaction, Asesuisa and its affiliate will be separated from the Banco Agrícola Financial Conglomerate.

Other lawyers involved in the deal include the attorneys of Esguerra Barrera Arriaga S.A. (Juan Pablo González Mejía) and the in-house team of Banco Agrícola (Franco Jovel and Liliana Rivas).
