Arias & Muñoz El Salvador advised AEI in the closing process of the transaction to sell the total of its shareholding in Distribuidora de Electricidad Delsur S.A. de C.V. to Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM).

The object of sale were shares of AEI El Salvador Holdings Ltd., a company established in Grand Cayman and the majority shareholder of Distribuidora de Electricidad Delsur S.A. de C.V., one of the most relevant energy distributors in El Salvador.

Ana Mercedes López, the Partner in charge of the transaction, commented that the sale of AEI brings the change in the indirect control of Distribuidara de Electricidad Delsur.

Other lawyers participating in the transaction include Clifford Chance and Walkers Global representing AEI in the United States and Grand Cayman, respectively; Lexincorp, Maples & Calder and Thacher & Bartlett representing EPM in El Salvador, Grand Caymen and the United States, respectively.
