ExperienceHe also acts as the General Secretary and Professor at the Universidad Thomas More in Managua, Nicaragua; and has being judicial consultant for the processes of modernization, creation and drafting of the new economic and commercial legislation for Nicaragua.
CareerDr. José Luis Velasquez obtained his law Degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma, Nicaragua (1974). He has a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) in Political Sciences from the University of Arizona, Tucson. He obtained a Masters Degree in Politics and Government from the University of Essex, England (1976). He was Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Nicaragua, at the Organization of American States (OEA) (2005 - 2006). He was also President and Executive Secretary of the Board of Directors of the National Council for Economic and Social Planning, Nicaragua (1999 - 2005). He is currently Secretary of the Managing Council of the Rubén Darío International Foundation.
